Our Mission
Impact Paterson CDC strives to provide a “hands up” to the under/unemployed of Paterson through job placement and “whole life” care in Jesus Name .
Foundational Tenants of our Approach
•The job discussion is an invitation into a relationship
•We care for the “whole person” through meaningful referral/partnering opportunities with ministry partners
•We believe strongly in a “Hand up” versus “Hand out” Approach
Our Vision
By proclaiming and honoring Jesus Christ, Impact Paterson CDC will provide sustainable job placement, housing services and holistic care to the people in Paterson. As we strive to achieve our mission, we define some core functions of our mission as:
•Job Placement = means it is a livable wage that restores dignity
•Housing = means it is a house of safety and security for men to grow and develop
•Holistic Care = this is meaningful community engagement that restores and invites relationship
One Life. Fully Transformed. Redeemed. Starts a wave of multiplication.
Impact Paterson is a hybrid for-profit and non-profit entity that was created to serve the community through a uniquely sustainable business model. By focusing on creating and investing in business opportunities that lead to long-term financial sustainability we are creating a platform for good works that multiplies the value of donations and support by 2X giving/investing.
In the near term, we have leveraged donations to support the programs and services we offer as we ramp up business operations across the portfolio. We also have sustainable businesses we incubate. grow and accelerate to help fund our activities. Today, this includes a for-profit staffing business, Impact Job Network led by Raj Gupta and a career counseling business called Place Career Guidance, led by Greg Vadala.

Our vision is to create our own Impact companies, that can employ those we help to restore. To create a sustainable model where income drives restoration and stability. Coupling our own business enterprises, with compassionate employers who will work with our candidates, we can make real change.
Housing is also top of mind. We currently partner with some great non-profits that are providing housing in in Paterson that are providing compassionate housing with support but there is simply more demand than supply. We envision a self-funding "Impact House" by 2020 that will integrate all aspects of our program, from Jobs, faith, and support.
We also use creative social entrepreneurship to help fund our non-profit. Currently, we have two standalone businesses that generate funding for our non-profit. The first is Impact Job Network, a New Jersey Based mid-level staffing firm. The second is Place Career Guidance, a business that helps students unlock their future paths as well as supporting professionals in career transition.
We provide job placement services for those who are struggling with finding work and that need assistance with identifying good jobs and all that goes with it. Impact job coaches provide assessment, guidance, coaching and a high level of support to help our clients identify, apply and get jobs.
We do this partnering with other non profits, churches and community organizations who are already helping those in need . Our efforts are focused on multiplying the impact these ministries are already having in the community.
We plan to invest and provide purpose-driven real estate with structured programs for those trying to get back on their feet after detox, recovery and incarceration. These investments are geared to create safe places, shelter, and structured living environments that helps people stay on the path of recovery and restoration.
Currently, we are successfully supporting the housing provided by some amazing Paterson ministries with our chaplaincy and Job Placement services. As we grow, we plan on supporting investment into housing.
We believe in a sustainable funding model that uses profits from businesses to fund Impact programs and helps support our community partners. We intent to leverage capital, loans and grants to grow and invest in businesses that can enhance and multiply the amount of impact we make with every dollar.
Impact Job Network is an incubated for profit business of Impact Paterson that is generating profits to help fund programs for Paterson. Place Career Guidance is part of our business accelerator program supporting career and life transition.
We collaborate and work closely with other organizations that address critical needs such as detox and recovery, reentry, specialized job training and personal development programs that support the full restoration of men and women.
Our goal is to be a force multiplier and collaborator to key ministry partners in the Paterson ecosystem.
